Taunton Deane MP, Rebecca Pow, joined staff from Somerset Sight to thank their Taunton area volunteers with tea and cakes at the charity’s headquarters in Northfield House in Taunton.
Chief Executive Officer, Tom Winsborough plus Development Officer, Becky Fry were amongst other staff who were kept busy serving tea and cakes to some of the hardworking volunteers who were being honoured, whilst Evie Cosgrove from Taunton kept the crowd entertained by singing a set of beautiful songs.
Somerset Sight has around 350 volunteers throughout the county, fulfilling a variety of roles including Volunteer Visitors, Fundraising volunteers and activities volunteers.
Rebecca Pow said, ‘I was honoured to be invited to this wonderful occasion. Somerset sight and all for their volunteers do a magnificent job for the visually impaired in our community. I learned so much about the wonderful services they offer and I take my hat off to them for all their hard work.’
