Rebecca Pow, Prospective Conservative MP for Taunton Deane has welcomed today’s GDP figures showing that the economy grew by 0.8% in the last quarter.
Rebecca said it was another example of how the Government was helping hardworking people in the constituency.
"Over the last few weeks we have announced our Help to Buy scheme, a reduction in the National Insurance tax burden for small firms and a rise in the employment figures," she said.
"Massive projects like the new reactor at Hinkley C, providing 25,000 new jobs, the recent revelation that business confidence is high and house prices on the rise proves the outlook is great for the South West.
"There is still much to be done, including further cuts in red tape and an increase in skilled jobs, but we’re on our way and I am really optimistic for the future.
"This Government is proving with the economy growing, the deficit falling and jobs being created that it has the hopes and aspirations of the hard working people of Taunton Deane at its core."
