Rebecca Pow, MP for Taunton Deane met with members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) on Friday (12th) to help promote their Workout at Work day to promote the importance of being physically active during the working day and keeping ‘fit for work’.
Physical activity improves your health and fitness, therefore bringing many benefits to help you get the most from work and life. A simple exercise to do at your desk is to place your mouse within easy reach and support your forearm lightly on the desk. Then move the mouse from your shoulder, not your wrist.
An active lifestyle can give you more energy and boost your mood, keeping you alert and productive in your job. Rebecca said; ‘Workout at Work Day is a great initiative to encourage a healthier lifestyle during the working day. Not only does it encourage people to avoid poor work habits and take more exercise, but it also highlights the benefits to employers of having a fitter and healthier workforce.’
