Party Chairman Patrick McLoughlin made a special visit to Taunton to meet with local supporters and Conservative Council Leaders. He last visited Taunton during Rebecca Pow’s election campaign when he was Secretary of State for Transport and he praised Rebecca’s success in increasing her majority in the recent election in 2017, and all her hard work to improve the economic prosperity of Taunton Deane.

Rebecca commented, “I was delighted to welcome Patrick and to update him on the great progress being made in Taunton Deane, particularly in terms of the funding that has been attracted for infrastructure projects.”

Following the visit, Patrick McLoughlin said, "It was great to spend time with the party members and council leaders of Taunton Deane - listening to members and colleagues views is one of the most important parts of being Party Chairman."
