Following the announcement that The County Stores in Taunton would be closing, the question arose as to where the Post Office would therefore be housed.

I have been heavily lobbying the Post Office to ensure that they remain in Taunton and come up with a suitable solution.

After a meeting with one of the External Regional Affairs Managers from the Post Office, I have received assurances that the Post Office will be kept in Taunton although temporary arrangements may have to be made.

I welcome this news and I am determined to ensure my constituents continue to receive the vital services they need. It is essential we retain a Post Office in Taunton and I am hopeful that progress is being made.
