Wellington showcased the wonderful produce that comes from the town and its surrounding areas at its annual Food Town event on Saturday. Prospective Conservative MP for the Taunton Deane Constituency, Rebecca Pow was full of praise for the event:
‘Being from a Somerset farming family myself I appreciate the need to bring town and country closer together and for people to appreciate where their food comes from and more importantly how good fresh, local produce can be and there were many mouth watering examples at the Wellington Food event. There was also a great buzz about the day which benefited local retailers and involved the wealth of creative talent in the town. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting stall holders, the local scouts, organisers and volunteers and was pleased to be able to go home with enough produce for our family supper!’ enthused Rebecca.
