Prospective Conservative MP Rebecca Pow was welcomed to the Taunton Deane Bowling Club to join visually impaired members during their regular Tuesday morning session.
‘This was an informative insight into how many people with visual and other impairments can still enjoy a sport such as bowls. With the help of some dedicated volunteers they play with great skill. In fact, a number of these players take part in major competitions, two members for example, have recently taken part in the Disabled and Visually Impaired Championships held in New Zealand. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to have a go but also to anyone who might like to get involved in helping or indeed sponsoring the sport.’
