I got my skates on this week and had a great visit to the brand new Skateboard Park in Wellington. I was delighted to see it was heaving with young guys on their BMX bikes, roller blades and skateboards showing that this is a much needed facility in Wellington.
The project was funded by Section 106 developer outdoor recreation contributions for Wellington to the tune of almost £50,000 and was achieved largely through the great efforts of Taunton Deane Borough Council and local Conservative councillors, Vivienne Stock-Williams and Janet Reed in consultation with Ricky Haskell, Ash Giles and other users of the park. Well done to everyone! Only wish I was better on the skateboard then I’d actually be able to try out the concrete half-pipe and the grind box effectively!
