On Saturday Rebecca Pow, Prospective Conservative MP for Taunton Deane, joined many families at the last activity event of the summer season held in Halcon at the exceptional new play area and BMX park next door to ASDA. This was the culmination of a whole series of events put on for local children during the summer holidays. Organised through the Links Centre in Halcon, they have been a huge success as manager, Denise Chidgey explained:
‘Hundreds of children have taken part in our activities which have been welcomed by everyone, providing much needed entertainment during the long holidays. We made the events very family orientated so that all members of the family could come together and join in and it seemed to be a winning formula.’
‘This event was clearly proving very popular on Saturday and was staged with much help from local volunteers and with backing from ASDA who have been forging strong links with the local community. From the tombola to face painting and woodland crafts it was a lovely final roundup to the summer activities. I look forward to visiting the Links Centre soon and finding out more about their much needed work in Halcon,’ said Rebecca.
