Rebecca Pow MP has given her backing to Trevor Chick who has been awarded a Pride in the Job Award for achieving the highest standards in house-building for a development in Taunton Deane.
Pride in the Job is the only UK-wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building and is the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive.
The winner in Taunton Deane was the Blagdon Hill development by Harold Tottle & Son Ltd.
This development will now go on to compete in the Supreme Awards to become the national Pride in the Job winner at a gala event on 15th January 2016.
Ms Pow attended an event in Parliament to find about more about the winning development which will provide new homes in their constituency. The event was organised by NHBC, the leading warranty and insurance provider for new homes in the UK.
NHBC Pride in the Job awards have been recognising excellence for over 35 years and the awards have been instrumental in driving up the quality of new homes.
Praising the winner, Ms Pow said:
“I was delighted see a Pride in the Job Award presented to a builder form Taunton Deane. Recognising high standards across the construction industry is vital and I hope that Trevor and Harold Tottle & Son Ltd will act as a fine example of what can be achieved with dedication and hard work.”
NHBC’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Lewis Sidnick said:
“NHBC’s role is to support the industry in maintaining and improving the build quality of new homes for homebuyers, whilst providing the benefit of our 10-year Buildmark warranty protection.
“This year there were 15,000 sites competing for this prestigious award which is always hotly contested by site managers from across the UK.
“NHBC is extremely proud of Pride in the Job. It rightly rewards the very best in the industry and the awards have played a huge role in driving up the quality of new build homes over the past 35 years. Importantly, homeowners who buy a Pride in the Job award-winning home, benefit from a product of the highest quality.”
