Taunton Deane MP Rebecca Pow joined residents of Langford Budville to unveil a plaque for the Queen’s 90th Birthday on Friday (10th June).
The plaque, which read, ‘this oak tree was planted in 2016 to celebrate the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. Britain’s longest reigning monarch’ was displayed next to a commemorative oak tree, planted on the village green.
Speaking, Rebecca said, ‘I am sure many of the children from the local school will remember that they were part of this historic event as they grow up and recall a dedicated monarch who did so much for us.’
Following the event, the crowd embarked on singing the British national anthem, ‘God save the Queen’ before returning to the village hall for tea and cupcakes.
