Minister of State for the Armed Forces visits Taunton

Prospective Conservative MP for Taunton Deane, Rebecca Pow met The Minister of State for the Armed Forces, the Rt Hon Mark Francois in Taunton last Thursday evening. She took him to the 40 Commando Stone which sits in the sensory Garden in Vivary Park where they paid their respects to Royal Marines from 40 Commando who have lost their lives.

Tourism Minister Visits Somerset Museum

Tourism Minister, Helen Grant MP has made a recent visit to the Museum of Somerset, now one of the top visitor attractions in the area as a result of successful renovation programme enabled by a Heritage Lottery fund grant. Whilst this museum has had a successful season, many tourist attractions in Somerset are still suffering as a result of last year’s flooding. Rebecca Pow, prospective Conservative MP for Taunton Deane, lobbied the minister for support for the County’s tourist industry.

Students Get Face Time With Education and Business Minister

Students from Taunton Deane had a frank and open discussion with Nick Boles, Minister of State for Business, Innovation, Skills and Education at a special round table. The fact finding event with the Minister was organised by Prospective MP for Taunton Deane, Rebecca Pow, and held at Richard Huish Sixth Form College. Ranked within the top 5% of colleges in the country, and rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, it also has an associated Business Centre which oversees up to 600 apprenticeships a year.
